Code Enforcement Violations and Liens

June 8, 2016

Pop quiz! Which of these can be considered a code enforcement violation?

1. Having a non-operable vehicle on your property

2. Having a trailored boat in your front yard

3. Overgrowth of grass/weeds over 16 inches

4. Having trash, junk or debris on your property

If you chose all of the above you would be correct... YAY! Give yourself a high-five!

This week we are going to be covering Code Enforcement Violations.

A code enforcement violation can be against a property for not following the laws and rules set forth by the code enforcement department. Typically the owner will receive a written warning notifying them of the violation and what needs to be done to rectify the issue. They can also be assessed a fine that accrues daily.
